#Next BI: offensive for smart organisations
“The future is already here – it’s just not evenly distributed.”
Cologne, June 2016 - The visions that are proclaimed in any discussion on the topic of “intelligence” are always astonishing: artificial intelligence that is superior to human intelligence, an omnipresent Internet of Things, and Industry 4.0 with Big Data to make it possible to fulfil all desires. Sometimes you get the impression that we’ve forgotten the here and now, our present reality, when we indulge in such visions. What is the alternative? Always remember the past but remain open to the opportunities of modernity! That is the road that leads to smart organisation.
With this in mind, Cubeware – a long-standing leader in the field of Business Intelligence – has initiated a communications offensive and a reissue of the BI Competence Book. As it does so, Cubeware is also maintaining a conscious awareness of its own strengths in traditional areas. Concepts such as data, business warehouse and OLAP have been important for years and will remain so for some time to come, of that Cubeware is sure. Planning, reporting, analysis and dash-boarding – in multiple languages, across national borders and departmental divisions, and for every relevant system environment (SAP, Microsoft, etc.) and all back-end systems (Microsoft, IBM, etc.). These will continue to be features of the BI community for many years.
But what is the key to future viability? It’s not one tool! Cubeware, as the initiator of the Business Intelligence offensive, does not believe that there is a silver bullet that can solve all problems. The company relies on new intelligence or on the smartness of the organisation across the board, using simple, effective and interactive Business Intelligence.
As a pioneer in the field, Cubeware was quick to begin using BI-Bots and the company added collaborative messenger solutions to Business Intelligence. However, modern technology of this kind alone is not enough. Cubeware has also made its business model and its prices flexible so that the solutions can be widely exploited by all end users, and BI can become a collaborative platform for smart organisations.
That will also be the message ofthe newBusiness Intelligence Competence Book, which is now issued in a second editiontwo years after it was first published.
