Optimization of the user experience through a new user interface
Kolbermoor, September 11, 2019 - The business intelligence (BI) and performance management (PM) specialist Cubeware has released Cockpit 10, a new web front-end for the Cubeware Solutions Platform (CSP). The user interface of the Web Cockpit has been adapted to the changing requirements of users and is intuitive to use. The release is the starting point for the tenth generation of the Cubeware Soultions Platform.
Capturing plan data as well as creating and consuming reports are well-known functions that the Cubeware Web Cockpit already provides. However, the user behavior and the application of the web frontend are changing massively. Access to business intelligence and performance management applications is increasingly done via browser and web applications. Cubeware has therefore not only given the user interface of the Web Cockpit a contemporary look, but has also a new Web client framework.
Despite these changes, it was ensured that existing reporting environments could continue to be used. For existing customers in particular, the simple switch to the new version is an essential aspect in order to avoid deviations in their daily work.
In addition to the reporting and analysis functions, users benefit in especially from the intuitive user interface when creating reports on the Web and when working with extensive planning applications. With the launch of Cubeware Cockpit 10, all functionalities are available to users without restriction.
By highlighting frequently used functions, makes them more accessible. At the same time, specialists continue to find comprehensive customization options for the creation of reports and applications. As with all other front-end types of the Cubeware Cockpit, a report created once is available in all other types.
"With the publication of Cockpit 10, we have reached another important milestone: offering users a modern user experience on the Cubeware Solutions Platform," says Peter Küssner, Managing Director of Cubeware GmbH, explaining the reasons for the redesign. "In addition to our business partners as beta testers in the final development phase, we have relied particularly the expertise of external specialists for the User Experience (UX) topic. Our development department is working intensively on the modernization of further platform components. Furthermore, we are looking forward to giving you a first insight into CSP's upcoming innovations at this year's Cubeware Customer Day in Munich".
Existing customers benefit from the new user interface directly and without additional migration efforts, as existing applications can be used with the new web frontend without interruption by means of soft migration.
Besides the transfer of existing functionalities to the new user interface, new features were implemented with regard to the commenting function, dialogs when opening reports, syntax highlighting for SQL and MDX experts, the presentation mode and zoom functions. In addition, the new Web Cockpit naturally meets modern security standards.
The Cubeware Web Cockpit 10 is now available. The conversion to Cubeware Cockpit 10 requires the use of Cubeware CSP C8 R9.3. Further modules of the tenth generation of the Cubeware Solutions Platform will follow later this year.
