Three-member Data Scientist Team evaluates the potential of Artificial Intelligence applications for Business Intelligence.
Kolbermoor, 16th April 2019 – Research is currently being conducted in all sectors and areas of life on how artificial intelligence can improve our professional and private lives. AI processes also offer enormous potential in the area of business intelligence. For example, market developments can be better predicted or reports with relevant additional information can be enriched. This allows corporate executives and managers not only to react faster but also to make decisions based on more valid data. To explore this potential of AI, BI specialist Cubeware has now opened their own laboratory "C-Lab" in Munich.
"Thanks to AI, we can offer more efficient analyses in the field of BI and, on the other hand, support reporting, planning and data management even better," says Peter Küssner, CEO of Cubeware. "And that is precisely what our data scientists are doing in the C-Lab." In the heart of Munich, the interdisciplinary team consisting of an atomic physicist, a machine learning specialist and an economist examines practical applications of AI in the field of BI and how they can be integrated in the Cubeware software portfolio.
Among other things, the big data experts are looking at how patterns in data can be identified, how data processing and quality can be improved, or the use of automated forecasting, predictive planning and advanced analytics. In the C-Lab, the team will also be able to research, evaluate and validate all BI-related topics such as machine learning, deep learning, internet of logistics or natural language processing. Always in focus: the practical relevance and the application possibilities for customers.
However, Cubeware does not just equip itself for the future, the location also plays a role: "We chose Munich deliberately: It is unofficially known as 'Isar Valley' and is one of the most important IT locations in Germany. Decisive for us was the proximity to our headquarters in Rosenheim," says Küssner. The first projects of the Data Scientist team are intended to identify core areas that the C-Lab will deal with in the future. On this basis, the lab will be further expanded. Cubeware expects first results this year, which will feed into the current product strategy.
For more than 20 years Cubeware has been processing and visualizing vast amounts of data so companies can make better decisions. "The C-Lab is a key factor for our innovative strength," says Peter Küssner. "Through our 4,000+ customers, we know the challenges companies face in data-driven decision-making processes. In this way, we can combine theoretical foundations with practical relevance and develop suitable products."
